Georgia: 1200 infrastructure projects in Imereti are implemented by state funds, programs and EU funding

Georgia: Georgian Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure has said that the country has implemented around 1200 infrastructure projects in Imereti with the funding of state funds, programs, and the European Union.

Rehabilitation of the water supply system and improvement of the tourist area is underway in Sachkhere, Koreti administrative unit.

In Chiatura, within the framework of the “Renewed Regions” program, a fountain, a square, and a skateboard square were arranged, and buildings and sidewalks were rehabilitated.

Recreational spaces are organized within the framework of the EU Integrated Pilot Regions Development Program.

In the village of Tskhratskaro, Zestaponi Municipality, the construction-rehabilitation of the Varinka Machavariani-Tsereteli Theater is underway with the funding of the European Union. Roads to the villages are also arranged.

Funded by the central budget, projects are underway in Terjola municipality. In addition to highways, rehabilitation is being carried out on educational infrastructure.

Ilia Begiashvili, First Deputy Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia, within the framework of monitoring infrastructure projects, with the State Representative in the Imereti Region, Zviad Shalamberidze, and the regions of the Government of Georgia, together with Shota Kakabadze, Head of the Relations Department, got instructed with the current works of infrastructure projects in Imereti.

The Georgian government has implemented many projects within the past few years, and the government is modernizing its existing infrastructure to provide ease to the people of Georgia.
