The State Minister, in turn, listened to the views and needs of the local population.

Tea Akhvlediani also met with the representatives of the “Women’s Room” in Marneuli. She also provided information to the representatives of ethnic minorities in the framework of the State Strategy for Civic Equality and Integration, representing women living in the municipality and non-governmental organizations working on women’s issues and spoke about the activities planned for the empowerment and support of women and future targeted programs and projects, as well as the importance of raising women’s awareness to strengthen their social role and protect their rights. Representatives of the Women’s Room briefed the State Minister on entrepreneurial and business projects in the Kvemo Kartli region to strengthen women’s involvement.

“This time in the Kvemo Kartli region, we held meetings with representatives of 6 villages densely populated by ethnic minorities, with whom we discussed the strategic goals of the state policy of civic equality and integration and specific ways to achieve them. Especially in rural areas, there is great interest in such meetings, where we discuss the needs of the population and their views on topics that are relevant to them. There was also a very interesting discussion with the representatives of the Marneuli Women’s Room on important areas of our policy, such as supporting and empowering women, increasing their access to educational opportunities, and improving their participation in the socio-economic spheres,” said State Minister Tea Akhvlediani.
