The United Kingdom has always been a country that has fascinated our people with its unique culture and traditions. Your country is a perfect example of how traditions and culture can enhance modern statehood based on the principles of freedom, democracy and independence for each individual. On such a special day, I am pleased to note that our long-established friendship has continued in times of peace and hardship and is reflected in the current political and economic partnership between Georgia and the United Kingdom. The Strategic Partnership and Cooperation Agreement with Wardrop Strategic Dialogue are two important policy formats that open up new opportunities for further expansion of our bilateral cooperation in all sectors.

Irakli Garibashvili thanked the partners for their support for Georgia’s sovereignty, territorial integrity and Euro-Atlantic integration and expressed hope that the partnership would deepen in the footsteps of democratization and reform.

“Today, the joint efforts of the international community and the support of regional partners are very important in the context of Russia’s military aggression against Ukraine. This unity conveys a crucial message to all – the message that we are not alone. At this crucial moment, as we await the responses of our European partners, our unity is essential to ensure greater security and stability in the region. I want to thank everyone once again and congratulate His Majesty Platinum on his jubilee! “- said Irakli Garibashvili.

Representatives of the Georgian executive and legislature, civil society, the diplomatic corps and international organizations attended the event dedicated to the Platinum Jubilee of Queen Elizabeth II, which was held at the Embassy of the United Kingdom.
