Georgia: Under the supervision of architects, restorers, and constructors, removing the cramite tire damaged by the element on the west minashen (Stoa) of the Cathedral of Alaverde is underway.
The removal of the damaged cramite tire on the western minashen of Alaverdi Cathedral (Stoa) is a crucial step in the restoration process, as it paves the way for further restoration work.
Following a comprehensive initial inspection by specialists and cut zoning, the structure of the west minashen (Stoa) cladding of Alaverde Cathedral has been established. It has been concluded that a complete replacement is necessary.
At the same time, research-project works and the development of restoration methodology related to the closure of Alaverdi Cathedral, the gate-bell, and the Episcopal House have begun.

- On June 25, the tin roof of the dome of the Alaverdi Cathedral was paid for.
- Morphin stones have been broken in various places in the northern part.
- The cramite roofs have been damaged.
- Regrettably, the west side of the cathedral and the dome mirrors have been broken, adding to the urgency of our restoration efforts. The tin roofs of the bell tower of the Episcopal House are damaged.
- The palace’s balcony was demolished from the dome. The cross was destroyed, and the surrounding area’s infrastructure was damaged.
In agreement with representatives of the Diocese of Alaverde and the agency, scaffolding around the cathedral has begun. It continues so that the specialists can fully work on M Karachi material.
As the public is aware, on June 26, Georgian Minister of Culture and Sports Thea Tsulukiani, along with Nikoloz Aznaurashvili, the General Director of the National Agency for Protection of Cultural Heritage of Georgia, visited Alaverdi. Their visit was to show their support and to get a first-hand look at the situation in the monastery complex, demonstrating the government’s commitment to the restoration project.
