Rezi Dgebuadze, the ambassador of youth climate and member of generation Nexus youth network of Georgia have shared his experience at recently concluded 29th summit of COP where he participated.
The 29th session of COP (Conference of Parties) was held at Baku, capital city of Azerbaijan which witnessed attended of developed and developing countries alike.
He while sharing his journey added, “Participating in the UN climate conference #COP29 gave me the opportunity to deeply understand the importance of fighting climate change. I want to share this knowledge with my peers.”
It is worth to note that Rezi’s climate activism path started with “Eco Leaders” school and he continue his work with green camp of climate ambassadors. He participated in COP29 as part of the “Young Delegates Program”which enables members of the Generation Nexus Youth Network from Eastern European and Central Asia countries to attend this important climate gathering to share their experience and views with each other’s.
Rezi is convinced that the first step to overcome any problem is to raise awareness. He underlined that my goal is to educate as many young people as possible about climate change and its risks.
The meeting of COP29 was also attended by political leadership of Georgia. All the member of Georgian delegation to meeting expressed hopes that with collective efforts we can bring a significant change to prevent the global climate threats.
While speaking about further he said this is time to take serious initiative in this direction so that future can be secured. Moreover the rising temperature and climate change will pose serious threat to the human existence if immediate steps are not taken at this crucial moment.
He urged the youth of Georgia to come forward and play an active role to convince the government so that government policies can be sustainable development friendly. Notably the Georgia have taken many initiatives to tackle the threat of climate change.
