Russia-Ukraine War:   The recent Russian strikes have led to the collapse of the maternity ward of the hospital in the Kherson region of Ukraine. The attacks have targeted newborns, pregnant women and women in labor. The Ukrainian citizens have called it a barbaric act, which shows the inhuman aspect of Putin’s forces. The attack on civilians, women and infants, and the civilian infrastructure was also compared to the plight of Syria.

Many users on social media called the President of Russia, Vladimir Putin to be the biggest coward for attacking pregnant women, infants and newborn children. Earlier, it was reported that Ukrainian women and children were abducted by the Russian forces.

Moreover, these women were being forced to bear Russian babies, and children were being brainwashed to turn them into Russian instead of Ukrainian. This has been an attempt at ethnic cleansing of Ukrainians. The Russian army has been conducting a genocide and sweeping off the generations and ethnicities of Ukraine.

This is supposed to have long-term impacts on the upcoming generations of Ukraine. On December 21, the Ombudsman informed about three Ukrainian children returning home from Russia after being kidnapped from the occupied Kharkiv region back in August. These kids were sent to a children’s sanatorium within a ‘medical treatment’ scheme.

As per sources, Russian authorities have held Ukrainian children in so-called ‘summer camps’ in Crimea, and these children are not being allowed to return to the Kherson and the Kharkiv regions. Hundreds of children, aged between six to sixteen, are being held for weeks and months in many cases. Attempts are being made to make Ukrainian children forget their original identity and make them one of their own.

More than ten months have passed since the Russian invasion on Ukraine and the end of Russian brutality is far from visible.
