A Rustavi-based court has sentenced one person for the murder. The accused have been sentenced to life imprisonment for murdering four people.
The Prosecution Office of Georgia, while taking to their social media handles has shared the information on this important development.
As per the official Facebook post of the production office, “A court at Tbilisi has sentenced one person for the death of four people; the court has accepted the evidence presented by the office and found the accused guilty of the heinous crime.”
It is worth noting that after receiving the information, the incident was investigated by the Georgian law enforcement agencies. They collected evidence by visiting the crime scene. In addition they recorded the evidence of any person who had knowledge of any facts about the crime.
The evidence shows that the crime happened on February 9, 2024 in the territory of Istanbul Bazar. According to the reports the accused committed the crime due to a previous grudge against the victims.
So due to a past grudge against the victim, the accused person has inflicted life-threatening injuries on a total five number of persons. To kill his victims accused fired multiple shots from his firearm.
The forearm used in this crime was registered in the name of the brother. As a result of this, four out of five victims died on the spot. The one other got critically injured and was taken to hospital for timely assistance.
After the completion of the preliminary investigation, law enforcement agencies arrested him on February 9. He was booked under various sections of Georgia’s criminal code.
Subsections “b” and “l” of Article 109 of the Criminal Code of Georgia and subsections “b” and “l” of Article 19, 109 were imposed. These sections defined the crimes of intentional murder and attempted murder committed against two or more persons which caused huge danger to security of society.
The court after finding the accused guilty, ordered him to undergo life imprisonment. The prosecutor’s office’s representative expressed satisfaction with the court’s decision.
