Rustavi, Georgia: The Mayor of Rustavi Nino Latsabidze, and Rustavi’s delegate to the Georgian Parliament, Irakli Shatakishvili, together with representatives of the mayor’s services, visited the Hungarian city of Kechkemet.
The
Mayor of Rustavi Municipality City Hall, Nino Latsabidze shared the glimpses of her visit on her Official Facebook Page on June 10, 2025, Tuesday. The Mayor also posted a small note along with the photographs.
According to the note shared by the Rustavi Mayor, it should be noted that the purpose of the visit was to hold introductory meetings, establish economic, cultural, and educational contacts between the two cities, and sign a memorandum of friendship in the future.
According to Nino Latsabidze, with the help of the Prime Minister and the support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Rustavi team, in parallel with ongoing projects in the city, they are making necessary international contacts for Rustavi with European countries such as
Hungary.
She also expressed her warm gratitude towards the Georgian Ambassador to Hungary, Tamar Liluashvili, who helped them to hold important meetings with the Mayor of Kecchkemet and the members of the Assembly.
Nino Latsabidze mentioned, “We also had a meeting with one of the leading higher education representatives to make joint plans for educating our youth. We have established interesting contacts with the business sector of the city of Kecchkemet.”
According to the Rustavi Mayor, becoming friends with another European city will be a new opportunity and potential for Rustavi.
During the official meetings, Nino Latsabidze and Irakli Shatakishvili met with the mayor of Kecchkemet, Dr. Claudia Semerei Pataki, representatives of Keckemet representative body and the ambassador plenipotentiary of Georgia to Hungary,
Tamar Liluashvili. The Meetings were also held at John von Neumann University.
