Sagarejo, Georgia: The Association football club in Georgia “FC Gareji Sagarejo” became the winner of National League 2 and got the highest league title. The mayor of Sagarejo Municipality, Avtandil Gulikashvili hosted a ceremonial event to celebrate this success.
It was the 36th Tour match which was held at the Sagarejo Central Stadium at the end of the 2024 season. Avtandil Gulikashvili hosted the event on January 11, 2025, for all the members of the team and administrative team and for the success achieved.
The mayor expressed his special gratitude to all the team members and appreciated them for their hard work. The members also received symbolic awards and a cash prize along with the thanks seals. The members are listed below:
- 23 players in the team’s application,
- the president of the football club Gareji – Lazare Datunashvili,
- the head coach of the team
- 13 representatives of the football club
By the decision of the mayor of the municipality, Levan Papava, as the best player of the season, will receive an additional award.
The gala event was attended by the chairman of the municipality’s city council, Alexi Gilashvili, and other representatives of local self-government. The great success was also celebrated by cutting a cake on the occasion.
The Municipality Mayor also gave a speech at the celebratory event and congratulated the Sagarejo Team Gareji for achieving this great success. He stated, “Success doesn’t come this way. This is the greatest effort, dedication, talent, passion, and love for work. You have taken the most important step in the history of Sagarejo’s sport and made us feel proud of your achievement. “
The Mayor also shared glimpses of the award ceremony on his official Facebook Page. He also shared a note along with the photographs of the event. He wrote, “Georgian football is the history of the sport of our homeland, its way of development, a symbol of continuation of culture, self-sufficiency. Each of us understands well the greatest responsibility in saving and preserving the heritage of Georgian sports. The development of sport is a national debt of each of us. We will not envy your efforts and promotions to achieve more and more success!”
