An educational session on volunteering issues was held in Zestaponi Municipality. This was a special session for young people living in the Imereti region of country.
These special sessions are being held within the framework of the project “Volunteering for Positive Changes” which has been implemented throughout Georgia with the support of the NGO namely Helping Hand Youth Agency.
It is worth to note that after the session, the Mayor of Zestaponi Municipality Vasil Gvelesiani and Shoti Tsikarishvili, winner of the 2022 Best Volunteer Award, participated in the panel discussion and addressed the young people.
At the same time representatives of the Baghdati, Vani, Samtredia, and Kharagauli Municipality Mayors also spoke about the need to support volunteering and the current challenges and answered questions asked by young people.
“It was an exceptionally good day, we discussed various forms of youth volunteering, gained new knowledge, met our peers living in the Imereti region and I am happy that in the next stage we will have the opportunity to start volunteering in different directions” – Mariam Uplisashvili said from Terjola Municipality, who shared his views at end of the session as well.
The helping hand agency is one of prominent youth agency of Georgia which is working round the clock to raise awarenesses among young people for volunteerism activities.
The agency has trained large number of youths about volunteerism in many parts of country. The large number of training session are being held in different region of country also.
Being volunteers is known as best work to contribute for social welfare. Any person who wants to contribute for social work can become member of any organisation working for social welfare.
In Georgia also large number of social, civil and non-governmental organisations are working with involvement of volunteers who work without any money.They worked just to make lives of other people better.
Although government have launched many initiatives in past to improved social, economic conditions of vulnerable section of society but still there are many people who have been living a very poor lifestyle.
