Georgia: Shalva Papuashvili, the speaker of the Parliament gave a speech at an event dedicated to the National Day of China on Monday, September 30th.
Shalva Papuashvili said, “It is an honour for me to be here today to congratulate the Chinese people on the 75th anniversary of National Day.” “For China, one of the most important countries of international friendship, a good friend and strategic partner of Georgia, this is indeed a historic date,“ he added.
The minister mentioned, “This day marks not only the establishment of a new Republic and the beginning of a new era for China, but also a reminder of the rich history, culture, and remarkable achievements of the Chinese people. In the last few decades, China has made significant strides in all directions, becoming a leader in international politics and making a significant contribution to global development and cooperation.”
“Our countries uphold the fundamental principles of international law, such as recognition of independence, territorial integrity and interference, which are the basis of international peace and security,“ Papuashvili noted.
He declared, “Friendship between Georgia and China is based on mutual respect and cooperation. Our nations have established strong ties in trade, culture and diplomacy, and it is these strong and diverse ties that enable us to develop and collaborate in a more interconnected world.”
“Georgia’s strategic location at the crossroads of Europe and Asia offers unique opportunities for our future cooperation, as China continues to expand its significant “One Belt, One Way Initiative“ while we, in turn, benefit from improved connectivity and investments“ said Shalva Papuashvili.
“Last year, bilateral relations between our countries attained a level of strategic partnership, which will further strengthen our ties in political, economic, and cultural spheres and promote more active cooperation for global peace and stability. By working together, we can unlock the full potential of our strategic partnership, which will significantly benefit our nations, said the minister
He also expressed his readiness to promote the development of stronger linkages among Georgian legislators and share experiences on mutual issues of interest.
He said, “I am optimistic about the opportunities that await our partnership. Together, we can work to create a brighter future filled with hope, understanding, and prosperity.“ “Once again, I congratulate the Chinese people on this important day. May the coming years bring peace, prosperity, and friendship between our nations,” Shalva Papuashvili added.
