Shalva Papuashvili, the Speaker of Parliament of Georgia underlined importance of global peace. His comment came in the wake of International Peace Day, which is commemorated every year on September 25.
In his address for the International Day of Peace the speaker said “It is time to make consistent efforts to maintain global peace. Peace is very important not just for the region but for the whole world as well.”
An impressive event was held at the office of the state minister of Georgia for Reconciliation and Civil Equality. The key speaker on this occasion highlighted the importance of recognizing that without peace global stability can not be achieved.
While recalling the past regional conflicts the speaker added that “The peace can bring long stability, whereas war will only produce dead people, torn families, many destroyed and abandoned houses, shattered dreams of young citizens who want to excel in different fields.
The officials of different government agencies added “The need of the hour is to bring stability and peace. We can not risk the future of the next generation and for the overall development of the next generation we have to take the initiative to ensure global peace as well”
As per the speaker Georgia always supports peaceful resolution of regional, bilateralor multilateral conflicts. Moreover the Government acknowledges the role of calm resolution.
According to the speaker all countries need to understand that dialogue is the only way forward. In the present challenging time we should prefer talk over disagreement, compassion over indifference and cooperation over confrontation.
The speaker also expressed hopes that we have complete confidence in the politics of diplomacy and engagement. This will ensure a peaceful, integrated and European Georgia. That will be a country that will ensure people’s rights are not violated and they have the freedom to express their views without any fear.
Speaker also spoke on the crucial role of young people in bringing regional and global peace. Young people must take the lead in promoting global peace so that everyone can live in a peaceful society without any fear.
