Ambrolauri: The work to remove the snow is on full pace in different region of the Municipality. The roads are expected to become normal at end of snow clearing work.
The information has been shared on social media handles by municipal authorities itself. As per the official Facebook page of city hall, “The snow removal works have been underway in Ambrolauri Municipality since morning. The city’s central streets, sidewalks, access roads to medical facilities and dead ends are being cleaned and equipment is also working in the direction of villages.”
At the same time the official Facebook page information added that, electricity is currently not supplied to 16 villages, Energo Pro Georgia teams have already visited the damaged locations and are working to restore electricity supply in a timely manner. They said if not possible to restore electricity in all villages then it may be restored in at least half of the villages.
The snow removing sites were also recently visited by representative of municipality along with other officiers as well.The Racha-Lechkhumi Kvemo Svaneti State Representative Papuna Margvelidze, Amrolauri Municipality Mayor Zviad Mkheidze, Deputy Mayor Davit Goglidze and City Council Chairman Aslan Saganelidze are present on site.
It is worth to note that due to the bad weather, the educational process in schools and kindergartens of Ambrolauri Municipality has been suspended on February 26-27. Moreover, the schools and other educational institutional will remain closed also till further order.
It is also to be noted that the official said, the snow removal works will continue actively throughout the day and will gradually cover all villages and problem areas. Notably in many areas of the city hall the bad weather conditions have causes multiple problems. The heavy rain coupled with snowfall causes road traffic disruption as well.
The heavy machinery and earth moving machines have been engaged by the municipality to make traffic movement normal. The weather department on the other hand also advised resident to stay indoor and avoid the unnecessary travelling.
