Rustavi, Georgia: A new multifunctional sports complex with 1,500 spectators was opened in Rustavi. The two-storey, closed-type sports complex’s main hall will serve eight Olympic sports. The hall can also hold private events in basketball, volleyball, handball, mini football, boxing, wrestling, judo, and fencing.

The hall is arranged and equipped according to international standards. LED screens installed for racing. The building is equipped with heating, cooling and ventilation systems. Multi-purpose sports complex fully adapted for people with disabilities.
The project was implemented by the Municipal Development Fund of the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure with the financial support of the Asian Development Bank (ADB).

The head of government came to the Sports Palace with UFC champion Ilia Topuria. According to the Prime Minister, Rustavi is a distinguished city with dignified, talented people, and Ilia Topuria is a prominent example.

The head of government thanked all those who contributed to the construction of the multifunctional sports complex, including Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure Irakli Karseladze, the Asian Development Bank, the Ministry of Culture and Sports, the State Commissioner in the region, the Mayor of Rustavi, and MPs.

Ilia Topuria is a special example of Rustaveli’s talent, an example of how much a Georgian man can do for his country. Thanks to Ilia Topuria for his patriotism and the great success he brought to our country,” said Irakli Kobakhidze.
