Basseterre, St Kitts and Nevis: Premier Mark Brantley, in his latest Facebook post, publicized that Dr Patricia Bartlette from NRP has filed a petition in the Court with a motive to overturn the clear results of the Assembly election, held on December 12, 2022, from the St John’s constituency.
In his post, Premier Mark Brantley wrote: “My Nevisian Family, Dr Patricia Bartlette of the NRP has decided to extend the election season by filing a Petition in the Court seeking to overturn the clear results of the December 12, 2022, election in St John’s.”Â
Premier Brantley stated that he had no objection to her Petition as she carries the legal right to move to Court in case she thinks some discrepancies have been conducted in the Assembly elections.
 The Facebook post followed as, “That is her right, and the great CCM Party and I respect each citizen’s right to approach the Court. But fret not yourselves. The NRP lost at the polls on August 5, 2022. The NRP lost again at the polls on December 12, 2022. The NRP will now lose in the Courts on this Petition in 2023.
The CCM-led government elected by you on December 12, 2022, in a free and fair election shall withstand any scrutiny. The CCM won the popular vote, and the CCM won the majority of seats.
Further, Brantley urged the citizens of St Kitts and Nevis not to worry about the CCM government as the CCM government has been founded on people’s trust and faith.Â
“I ask you not to worry over the workers of iniquity. I defeated the NRP in Court when they tried to destroy Hon Vance Amory with a kangaroo Commission of Inquiry. I defeated them again in the Court when they put that black fox in the Cox box.Â
In 2023 I shall defeat them in Court again and ask the Court to award costs in my favour. I am your Premier, and I shall remain resolute in defence of our democracy here in Nevis that we in the CCM hold dear.”
