Tbilisi, Georgia: The Mayor of the capital city of Tbilisi, Kakha Kaladze met with 30 families living in Isni, Saburtalo, Chughureti, Nadzaladevi, Samgori, and Mtatsminda districts, who had had problems legalizing their homes for years, and handed over ownership certificates on May 28, 2025, Wednesday.Â
The Tbilisi City Hall shared a video related to this event on its official Facebook page on the same day. The City hall also shared a small note along with the video.
According to the City hall’s posted video, it should be noted that the mayor of the capital Kakha Kaladze handed over property certificates to families living in different districts of Tbilisi.
The mayor of Tbilisi, Kakha Kaladze in the video stated, “We will continue with the program of legalizing residential areas. Today, we have legalized 30 more families and gave away spaces for one GEL for a symbolic price. “I congratulate these families and wish them happiness,” he added.
According to him this program was started in 2017 and will continue until all the families are satisfied. The mayor also urged the citizens to apply to their district council and their staff will help them track the documents as much as possible, explaining what documents need to be collected for the area legislation later.
It should also be noted that together with the mayor of Tbilisi, the leaders of the relevant districts, as well as the head of the property management agency Sergo Birkadze, and the majoritarian deputy of Tbilisi City Council Kakha Labuchidze were also present at the event.
Within this program, more than 3,300 families are satisfied with their living spaces. These are the families who have been living in residential areas for a long time, that were not able to legalize.
In addition, it should also be noted that hundreds of applications have been received from the capital city hall wishing to legalize areas, which are being considered and satisfied step by step.
