Tbilisi, Georgia: The Mayor of Tbilisi, Kakha Kaladze, met with 30 families living in Gldani, Nadzaladevi, Didube, and Vaki districts who had had problems legalizing their homes for years, and handed over ownership certificates on April 24, 2025, Thursday.Â
The Tbilisi City Hall shared a video related to this event on its official Facebook page on the same day. The City hall also shared a small note along with the video.
According to the City hall’s posted video, it should be noted that the mayor of the capital Kakha Kaladze handed over property certificates to families living in different districts of Tbilisi.
The mayor of Tbilisi, Kakha Kaladze in the video stated, “In recent years, hundreds of millions of GEL assets, which were on the balance of the state, have been transferred to private property. We continue with this program which is a success. We want to meet all families, and people who are facing similar problems. Be sure to refer to your local council where you live, they will help and tell you what documents need to be collected to get your residential areas legalized.”
According to him, Today they have satisfied 30 families living in different districts. Congratulations to them.” “Of course, the program will continue until all such families are satisfied with housing,” he added.
It should also be noted that together with the mayor of Tbilisi, the leaders of the relevant districts, as well as the head of the property management agency Sergo Birkadze, and the majority deputies of Tbilisi City Council were also present at the event.
The process of transferring residential areas that have been illegal for years started in 2017 on Kakha Kaladze’s initiative. Hundreds of applications have been received from the capital city hall wishing to legalize areas, which are being considered and satisfied step by step.
Within this program, more than 3,300 families have been satisfied with their living spaces. These are the families who have been living in residential areas for a long time, that could not legalize.
