The city hall of the Georgian capital city, Tbilisi, has announced that there will be traffic restrictions on Rustaveli Avenue. This decision has been taken in view of dismantling the New Year lighting work that was installed throughout the city to give it an impressive look.
The Tbilisi city hall also took to their social media handles to inform the general public of this development. City hall posted on their Facebook page that “Due to the dismantling of the New Year’s lights, the traffic on Rustaveli Avenue will be temporarily restricted.
it also stated “Due to the dismantling of the New Year’s Illuminations on Rustaveli Avenue from First Republic Square to Freedom Square, vehicle movement will be restricted on January 21 and 22 from 00:00 to 06:00.It will be possible for vehicles to travel through Leonidze, Ingorova, Alexander Chavchavadze, Griboedov, Baratashvili and Tabukashvili streets.From Melikishvili Avenue to the rest of Mtatsminda streets will be allowed through Janashia, Tarkhnishvili, Tatishvili, Chovelidze, Zandukeli streets and then Barnov, Gogebashvili and Kakabadzebi streets Beat”.
“From other streets of Mtatsminda district, it will be possible to reach Melikishvili Avenue and the metro station “Rustaveli” area via Griboedovi, Makashvili, Barnovi and Shanidze streets. Movement on Freedom Square will be limited only in the direction of Rustaveli Avenue. Cars going from Rustaveli metro station to Freedom Square on Rustaveli Avenue, after turning to the olive tree, will drive through Mikheil Javakhishvili Street and the right bank of Mtkvari” post added.
The officials of the city hall authorities have advised the people to avoid the traffic on these routes to avoid any inconvenience. It is to be specifically mentioned that every year, the city of Tbilisi is decorated beautifully on the eve of Christmas and New Year. Large-scale events are organised on this occasion to welcome the new year across the whole country.
