Tbilisi: The personal staff of the third trainer of the recruits took a military oath before God and the nation in Akhalkalaki at the Senior Sergeant Zaza Peradze’s Initial Combat Training Center (BCT). The recruits read the soldier’s corpse and joined the Georgian Defense Forces.
The Deputy Minister of Defense, Grigol Giorgadze and Deputy Commander of Defense Forces, General-Mayor Zaza Chkhaidze, congratulated military servicemen on the important day of swearing, wished success and to the leadership and instructors of the centre. They thanked him for preparing the recruits. Colonel Zakaria Kalandadze, the head of the initial combat training centre, addressed the soldiers.
Prior to being sworn in, the recruits underwent a ten-week boot camp training during which they developed tactical, armoury, fire, medical, allied forces skills and learned public rules. From today, they will be divided into different subdivisions of the Defense Forces.
The oath taking ceremony was attended by representatives of the defense forces and local authorities, family members of soldiers and three students and teachers of Akhalkalaki municipality. Later an open day for pupils was also organized.Â
Children were treated by military servicemen, gave them a look at the base infrastructure, exhibited equipment and weapons and performed various activities together. At the end of the event, the students also visited the canteen, where they tasted “Soldier’s Ulupa”.
