Adjara:  Personal Data Protection Service trains data protection officers

The representative of the personal data protection service of Georgia has provided training to the data protection officers of the public sector in the Adjara provision of Georgia. The head of the service  Lela Janashvili  also addressed the attendees to apprise them about the latest developments in the field.

This was an informative-practical meeting which was opened by the head of the service. The head of the agency  Lela Janashvili spoke about the importance of the new law on personal data protection. Head also stressed the other aspects of the new law  especially emphasizing the focus on  the role of data protection officers  and promised to support the public sector representatives in the future on behalf of the service with every kind of assistance as well.

 

It is also worth noting that the service’s personal protection officer conducted the specific training on the topic. At the same time Tengiz Mamulia reviewed the obligations stipulated by the new law and spoke about practical advice that data protection officers must consider in their routine work.

On this occasion  about 150 data protection officers from the public sector of Adjara attended the information meeting and received detailed information on the new data protection law of the country. The meeting was held in an interactive mode  and Tengiz Mamulia answered the officer’s questions in detail.

 

It should be noted that the Personal Data Protection Service representative office also has a dedicated service-provider center in other parts of the region, like Batumi and Bakos Street where representatives of public or private organizations can receive consultations.

A similar informative practical meeting for private sector data protection officers will be held in Batumi tomorrow July 3, 2024 and the data officers are   expected to be present.  There was also a presentation on the topic in which every detail was explained to the attendees.  It is to be added that data privacy and protection have become the biggest concerns in the present time.
