Georgia: The Minister of Environment Protection and Agriculture, David Songulashvili, visited the new building of Kakheti Regional Authority of the Environmental Supervision Department in Telavi. He also got acquainted with the working conditions on May 10, 2025, Saturday.
The Environmental Supervision Department of Georgia shared glimpses of the minister;s visit on its official Facebook page. Along with the snippets, a small note about the discussions were shared.
The new facility is equipped with all the necessary modern inventory and technical equipment. It will house both the environmental patrol and rapid response units. Additonally, it will also house the inspection division of the Kakheti Regional Department under one roof. Currently, the division employs 65 staff members.
Key Highlihts of the Meeting
However, during a meeting with employees, the Minister emphasized the importance of strengthening the Department’s capacity. He did so to ensure the effective implementation of environmental state control. He underlined that it is important for employees to have proper working conditions and be fully equipped with the necessary tools and technology to carry out their duties effectively. According to the Minister, the process of improving the Department’s capabilities is ongoing and remains a priority.
Environmental Supervision Department’s Kakheti Regional Division
The Environmental Supervision Department’s Kakheti Regional Division is located in Telavi, Georgia. This division is a part of the State Sub-Agency Department of Environmental Supervision. It is responsible for environmental protection and control in the Kakheti region.
