A thematic camp has been organized in Ikalto village of Kakheti to educate the young population about civil responsibility. Giorgi Amilakhvai, minister of education, science, and youth, attended the camp.
In his address to the camp participants, the minister spoke about the importance of implementing thematic camps in terms of raising state awareness and strengthening civic responsibility among the youth. He underlined the significant role of young people in bringing change in society.
The event was also attended by the Deputy Minister of Education, Science and Youth of Georgia, Nodar Papukashvili and Head of Youth Agency, Vakhtang Baakashvili as well. Soon after the event the minister held a meeting with the students participating in the camp and discussed various issues relevant to the youth with them.
It should be noted that the thematic camps are being held for the first time in 2024 under the initiative of the Ministry of Education, Science, and Youth of Georgia. The camps also have the support of the Youth Agency. These annual thematic camps will last until the end of June and this year they will host 8 groups of young people almost 500 students in total.
It should also be added that within the camp young people have the opportunity to engage in thematic discussions regarding global and local challenges. Public lectures on various important topics will be held for students along with various educational and entertainment activities.
The students attending the camps also shared their views with the agency representative. The student thanked Giorgi Amilakhvai, minister of education, science, and youth for organizing these camps which provided wonderful opportunities to the members of the youth community.
The minister while addressing the youth present on the occasion motivated them to participate actively in political activities to bring about change in the country. A significant number of young boys and girls were present and had direct interactions with the minister and other key speakers of the events as well.
