Georgian delegation attends meeting of UN World Tourism Organisation

The  National Administration of Tourism , Georgia’s  delegation  participates in the United Nations World Tourism Organization Executive Council session. The Georgian delegation is attending this 121st session of the executive council to hold a dedicated discussion on the various aspects of the tourism industry with the participation of experts from different fields.

 

The session is being held in   Barcelona ​, Spain.  The Georgian delegation attended the session under Tamar Koriauli. Tamar Koriauli is  the first deputy head of the National Tourism Administration. The ministers of tourism of the member countries of the United Nations Tourism Organization are attending the event. At the same time  the representatives of state structures and tourism sectors also participated in the thematic discussion and panel discussion  which are being held within the framework of the council session where the further activities of the organization were also  discussed.

 

The participants of the session discussed the current trends in the tourism industry, recovery, growth dynamics, product development, and other issues. Tourism is one of the best opportunities to generate revenue for any country. The travel industry experts   stated that to make any country a favourite travel destination  the country needs to have tourist-friendly infrastructure.

 

Georgia is also one of the most visited countries in the Caucasus region. The country is blessed with many sights of natural beauty. It also provides many locations for hikers and lovers of adventure activities.  On the other hand the Georgian tourism industry is also trying to provide a world-class travel experience. This includes easy access to tourist destinations, availability of tour guides, and low travel packages for international tourists.

 

The Georgian delegation participated in the meeting of the working group of countries in the European region. The meeting was held under the theme of  “Work Plan for the Agenda for Europe in 2024,”  where the 2024 plans of the European region in the direction of tourism industry promotion were discussed by all the travel industry stakeholders as well.
