Tbilisi: In a significant turn development officials of the prosecutor general of the Georgia charged two more person for attacking officer of Police. The incident happened in Georgia on night of December 1, 2024.
It is worth to note that the many such incidents are being reported from the Georgia as country is facing widescale protests over the government’s decision to suspend talks on integration into European Union. The Georgia was granted the status of candidate country  of European Union by European Council.
At that time this was considered as first step towards full-fledged membership of European Union. Â The reported incident was investigated by the officials of Ministry of Internal affairs. The in-depth investigation of Ministry of Internal affairs revealed many shocking incidents in their report.
As per the report of investigation, accused had attacked the employees of the special task department who were on duty at the time of attack. This incident occurred on night of December 1, 2024 outside the Parliament of Georgia in capital city Tbilisi. The employees who were attacked were deployed by police department at the Chichinadze Street.
The investigation also disclosed how  both accused tried to cause physical harm to employees. They threw so-called “Molotov cocktails” at officers. At the same time due to throw o these Highley inflammable Molotov cocktails a water cannon of Ministry of internal affairs ministry caught fire.
They were arrested on very next day of incident on December 2 by law enforcers. They have been charged under strictest provision of Georgian law. The part one of article 353 of Georgian criminal code in imposed as well against them.
These provision covers offence of the attack on a police officer in connection with the official activities of a police officer. It is also to noted that if after trial guilt of accused is proved than they may have to face prison term between four to seven years.
The investigation into the criminal case continues as per information of the office. The officials expected that the further investigation will reveal more details.
