A top diplomat of the Ukraine wanted Georgia to take the first step toward restoring bilateral relations between the two countries. Ukrainian Chargé d’affaires in Georgia Mykhailo Kharyshyn expressed hope that Ukarine is always willing to boost bilateral relations with Georgia.
According to the report published on August 19 as per the Interview with media houses the diplomat added “ I am reiterating our stand once again that Ukraine is not against our diplomatic relations and is looking forward to enhancing the cooperation.”
According to him it is always better for both countries overall development. However some political statements by the Georgian politician have damaged the relations between both countries. Notably after the beginning of the Ukraine and Russia war the Ambassadors of both countries remained in their respective countries.
The Ukrainian diplomats further added that it is not only the former Georgian President who creates tension; Zurab Adeishvili and Giorgi Lortkipanidze have also made many such moves that were determinantal for bilateral relations.
According to content of same interview given by Ukarine diplomat extradition of some person demanded ruling Georgian government is not in Ukraine’s plans. He cited the main reasons for this includes the lack of impartiality of Georgian judiciary against these people.
Ukrainian diplomats expressed their sincere gratitude towards the Georgian President for her participation in the summit for peace in Ukraine, a gesture that is deeply appreciated and respected. The president has also received the invitation for the fourth summit on Crimea which is scheduled for September 11. The diplomats further expressed hope that Georgia will be represented at least at the level of deputy speakers.
Georgia is going for the parliamentary election this October. Many meetings are being held by the ruling party with foreign diplomats. The Ukraine also said that if Georgia takes the first step, then they will be happy to be part of the further process. This further process will make the country’s relations smoother and more potent.
