New Delhi, India: Anthony Blinken, United States Secretary of State arrived in India to attend the G20 Foreign Ministers Meeting., which is all set to be held on March 2. The United States secretary is set to meet the Indian External Affairs Minister, S Jaishankar along with participation in the Raisina Dialogue.
The Indian Ministry of External Affairs extended warm welcome to the officials that are on an official visit to India for the G20 Foreign Ministers Meeting. In a tweet, the Ministry wrote-
“Welcome to India, FM Sameh Shoukry of Egypt @MfaEgypt, FM @ABZayed of UAE @MoFAICUAE and @SecBlinken of USA @StateDept. Looking forward to deliberations at the #G20FMM. @SecBlinken & FM Shoukry will also participate in #Raisina2023.”
Notably, about 40 delegations from various nations are anticipated to be the part of the G20 meeting, which will be held at the Rashtrapati Bhavan Cultural Centre. This is the second ministerial meeting being held under the Indian Presidency of G20. The first meeting was held in Bengaluru, which included Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors as well.
As per US State Department official, the United States Secretary of State, Anthony Blinken will be meeting the Indian External Affairs Minister, S Jaishankar besides his participation in the G20 Foreign Ministers’ meeting.
“The officials from India and the United States are expected to discuss the strategic partnership between India and the United States as well as working together over the Asian Quad, the aspect of Defence cooperation between the nations and the Initiative for Critical and Emerging technologies being administered out of the White House and the Prime Minister’s office”, stated the Assistant Secretary Bureau of South and Central Asian Affairs, Donald Lu.
The Indian EAM and United States Secretary of State will also meet the other members of the Asian Quad i.e Japan and Australia.
