Georgia: The United National Movement (UNM) is bailing out Mikheil Saakashvili and proposing to parliament that the former president be transferred abroad and return home after his recovery.

The party says that they will be the guarantors of this. According to UNM members, every step must be taken to save Saakashvili’s life.

“Guarantee is a political statement because the issue of Mikheil Saakashvili’s health and life is not just a legal aspect. I have heard the majority say that it does not fit into the legal framework. This is our public political statement that Mikheil Saakashvili is an object of inhuman treatment. “His health is under attack and is in danger. Therefore, it is a humanitarian issue and a great challenge for the country,” said Khatia Dekanoidze.

MP Tamar Kordzaia also held a briefing today and offered the government to involve international experts to assess Mikheil Saakashvili’s health condition.

“If the government does not trust Georgian doctors, neither the Public Defender’s Council, nor the Empathy Council, nor the doctors’ councils created by it, I call on the relevant medical experts to answer the main question – is Mikheil Saakashvili equal to the torture today? “If not, this environment will harm his physical and mental health,” Kordzaia said.

According to the medical council of the Public Defender, Mikheil Saakashvili has protein starvation, which is probably caused by resistant post-traumatic stress disorder and depression, which eventually led to anorexia. According to the conciliation, neuropsychological and physical rehabilitation is required.

Mikheil Saakashvili’s family demands his transfer abroad for treatment and called rallies.
