PM Pierre envisages the development of businesses in the vicinity of the island of Saint Lucia. Thus ,an assistance was promised by the Prime Minister for the revival of the company.

As the company stated: Following the incidents of gun violence, the company has lost most of its staff, who had served the company from a long time; while some of the workers have left due to the circumstances that emerged out of the Covid-19 pandemic. This has become a menace for the company, which was left behind with the least staff for harvesting.

Meanwhile, another narrative claims that the gun violence had nothing to do with employee turnover for the company. In fact, it was the price of electricity that soared following the Russian war in Ukraine, which the company couldn’t really manage.

The Co-Founder of Simply Mushrooms, Peter Dillon, noted that the company yields had depleted along with the profitability. “So we have been losing money since last September.” Further, he added that the company had resorted to investing in solar equipment to cut off the electricity expenses as well as lowering the money spent on training staff to a level from which the company could make more profits like it had done earlier as well.

At a community meeting, Dillon stated that Prime Minister Pierre had personally assured him of providing the required financial assistance. Dillon agreed that the company is undergoing a rough patch; however, the company will be back on track as soon as it receives the funding.

As per Dillon, the company will be receiving funds within a time period of the next couple of weeks.
