Georgia: In Levili, the historical homeland, the Georgian Festival of Levili continues with exciting and diverse cultural and sports events, initiated by the Ministry of Culture and Sports of Georgia and supported by the Government of Georgia.

On June 29, the festive week began with a concert of pupils of Tsalenjikhi, Lentekhi, Kharagauli, Kobuleti, Kvarli, Gori Salotbaro schools and the celebration continued with the unique samples of the Svanese multi-voice by the folk ensemble “Lalkhori” and the concert of the Kutaisi Chamber Choir named after Ioseb Kechakmadze.

Guests saw Kutaisi Puppet Theater’s play “Ugly Duck’s Dirt” (directed by N. Maghlakelidze), which received widespread appreciation.

Khridol masters showed guests interesting tricks of this kind of Georgian martial arts.

The festival’s guests met calligrapher Giorgi Sisauri, who conducted masterclasses on Georgian writing. The Georgian festival of Levili aroused the audience’s interest and deserved appreciation.

As it is known, every weekend from May 24 to July 14, Levili’s homeland hosts a Georgian festival. The festival is being held for the second time, and unlike the previous year, both its length and the number of participants have increased. This year, for the first time in Levili’s homeland, May 26 was celebrated on a vast scale.

Several foreigners or French citizens visit the festival every week. Georgian emigrants living in France are among the guests of the events.

More than 700 artists and sportsmen will participate in this year’s two-month festival, including folk and choreographic ensembles from different regions, municipal state theaters, and creative groups. Several sports (rugby, football, hairdressing, chess, Georgian martial arts) have competitions or exhibition dueling. For the first time, wood craftsmen, writers, and art academy students will participate in the festival.

It was important that Leville’s historic homeland hosted the Academy of Art’s master’s and undergraduate students of sculpture for the first time this year. Seven students have been visiting the Ministry of Culture’s first creative residence outside Georgia for several weeks, and the works they created there will be permanently placed in Motherland Park.

For information, the National Wine Agency and Geovine Trading” LLC support the Georgian festival.
