The Health Ministry of Georgia said the country has reported 888 new cases of COVID-19, with 2,831 recoveries and 17 fatalities in the past 24 hours. The positivity rate for the past two weeks stands at 10.92 per cent.
Overall, there are currently 29,029 active cases of Coronavirus all over the country.
Moreover, as per the figures given by the Georgian health department, a total of 21,620 tests were conducted throughout the country within the last 24 hours, out of which 19,218 were rapid antigen tests, and the remaining 2,402 were PCR tests.
Since February 26, 2020, the country has recorded a total of 1,639,678 cases of Coronavirus. Out of 1,639,678 cases of COVID-19, a total of 1,594,011 patients have recovered, while 16,612 people have succumbed to it.
The new 888 cases of COVID-19 were recorded in several parts of the country.

- Imereti – 111 cases
- Kvemo Kartli – 29 cases
- Shida Kartli – 50 cases
- Guria – 42 cases
- Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti – 53 cases
- Kakheti – 88 cases
- Mtskheta-Mtianeti – 25 cases
- Samtskhe-Javakheti – 10 cases
- Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti – 14 cases
The new Omicron variant of Coronavirus accounts for the majority of confirmed Covid-19 cases in the country.
Furthermore, there are currently 986 patients who are undergoing treatment in hospitals, while 28,043 people are undergoing treatment at home and by consulting their family doctors. There are 280 people who are undergoing treatment in the intensive care unit.
As many as 1,354,918 people have received at least one dose of any vaccine in the country so far, while 1,252,693 individuals have been fully vaccinated, amounting to 43.5 % of the country’s adult population.
A total of 230,676 individuals have received booster shots or 3rd dose of the vaccine.
According to a report released by Health Ministry, the daily confirmed cases of Covid-19 in Georgia have declined by 24 times, while the number of hospitalisation cases has decreased by 12 times compared to the data from February in Georgia.
