New Delhi, India: The Khalistan referendum meeting in Brisbane, Australia has failed to be a crowd puller as only a handful of citizens showed up at the meeting on Sunday. As the Founder and Editor in Chief of The Australia Today, Jitarth Jai Bharadwaj, stated:

The meeting which was Khalistan Referendum than a Sikh referendum has miserably failed in garnering the support from the Sikh community. Queensland has about 15000-20000 odd strong community of Sikhs, however, only a ha handful turned up at the meeting.“

With only 100-150 people coming every hour, the voting had to be shut down at 4, which was intended to continue till 5 PM. Moreover, the attempt from Khalistani supporters to mobilise crowd also went in vain. According to the insiders, attempts were made to arrange buses for people to reach out, along with their families, which also failed miserably.

The Australia Today Editor further added that “No one in Australia cares about Amritpal Singh. Merely a per cent of the 200,000-plus Australian Sikh Community know about him. For the Indian Australians, Amripal doesn’t mean anything, whatever he tries to be on ground. The Indian Australian community isn’t worried at all with this propaganda.”

A larger proportion of the Australian Sikh Community told The Australia Today that they didn’t know much about him or anything about police crackdown. In fact, nobody is even worried about his propaganda and agendas. This simply implies that he is already non-existent for all of them.

Bharadwaj also commended the unity that the Australian Indian Community has exhibited in ruling out these kinds of propagandists, which tried to vandalise the Hindu places of worship to mobilise support for Khalistan.

Notably, Amritpal Singh is the leader of a radical organisation named ‘Waris Punjab De’, which was founded by Deep Sidhu, who lost his life in a car accident in February 2022.
