Akhaltsikhe Municipality City Hall held another information meeting. This was held for interested young people under the framework of the Akhaltsikhe Municipality City Hall Program “Municipality Volunteer 2023”.
At the meeting members of the initiative group participating in the program spoke with the audience about various issues, including gender equality, its importance and current news. The meeting also highlighted challenges in this regard and overcoming these challenges with the involvement of youth.
As recent data reflected that women are the victim of gender related offences in large numbers. Many organisations and government departments organised a series of seminars and conferences to underline the issue of domestic violence across the country. These events were held under the sixteen-day international campaign against gender bias and domestic violence.
The Organiser of the meeting said that we would like to remind you that Akhaltsikhe Municipality City Hall has been implementing a volunteer program since 2019, the main goal is to promote volunteer activities, promoting the development of youth activities and youth participation in these processes.
It was also highlighted that young people should take social activities as a volunteer. Volunteer has a long role to play in the healthy development of society.
It is worth mentiong that during this meeting a presentation was also held. Through this presentation, many issues were explained in detail to the attendees of students. Young participating member also share their views and suggestions with regard to voluntership.
They also expressed their interest in the Volunteer program. Organisers, as well as participants of the meeting, also reiterated that there should be collective efforts to make a society that is safe for women.
At the same time, the organiser also stated that the program will further help the development of important skills and competencies in young people, which will be beneficial for keeping them active and encouraged. This dedicated program is six months long and includes two phases. In the first stage of the program, young people will be trained by sharing both theoretical and practical experience, while in the second stage, young people put the knowledge gained into practice as well.
