An important seminar was held on the sustainable forest management. This was held for the students of various classes.
It is to be specifically mentioned that Informational seminars about the situation of Georgian forests and the principles of sustainable management were held in public schools of Tianeti Municipality.
On this occasion the school students received information about qualitative and quantitative indicators of Georgian forests. They also came to know about the forest biodiversity, functions and importance of forests, the use of natural resources, as well as the importance of forest protection functions, rules of behavior in forests, and the profession of forestry.
At the same time the Young people had the opportunity to get answers to interesting questions. These questions were answered by the key speakers present on the occasion as well. It is to be added that the seminars were held by specialists of the Center for Environmental Information and Education.
It is also to be added that the meetings of the project “Supporting the Implementation of Forest Sector Reform in Georgia were held within the framework of Georgia, the Green Climate Fund (GCF), the Government of Georgia, the German Federal Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC).
Notably this significant project is being implemented by the German International Cooperation Society (GIZ) and the Ministry of Environment Protection and Agriculture with the involvement of agencies under the ministry.
There was also a presentation held for the students. During this presentation, all the students were apprised of the new and latest developments in the field of environment and forest management.
The seminar hall was full with the participating students. They also asked many questions as well as share their thoughts with the key speakers as well.
The Environmental Information and Education Centre, Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture has also shared information in this regard on social media posts. The social media users also appreciated the seminar that will aware people of the forest issues of the country.
