The incident of police brutality again surfaced on media platforms. In a purported video, the man is being hit by the Police. There is a huge outcry against this police action.
As per the information the incident happened in the capital of Georgia Tbilisi, on Leonidze Street. In the video, it can be seen that the group of policemen beat a man brutally in the presence of his wife. His wife was sitting in the front seat protested the police action but they did not listen to her and continued to beat her husband.
The eyewitness of the incident explained that the man accompanied by his wife was  driving in the central part of the city. The police bus was moving in the opposite direction.  when the man as alleged by somes did not give way then several officers got out and physically assaulted him.  They hit him relentlessly using kicks and punches and also hit him on his head. The whole incident happened in front of his wife who seemed to be helpless against the police.
The Special Investigative Service on the other hand said that they are investigating the matter under Article 333 (3b) of the Criminal Code. The article deals with exceeding official authority by the members of the government services. The ministry of internal affairs however accused the man. As per their statement, the man was drunk and did not give the pass to the police party. The police party was going on official duty. The statement of the Internal Affairs Ministry failed to recognize the police brutality.
It is to be added that many complaints are being lodged against the police force for exceeding their powers. The incidents further increased after the beginning of the protest against the foreign agents law. Meanwhile, social media users strongly condemned the police action and urged the special investigation service to take strict action against the culprits.
