Georgia: The Kintsvisi monastery complex, a significant cultural heritage site, underwent necessary cleaning works.
National Importance Category Cultural Heritage Monument, Kintsvisi Complex St. Leaves and dust accumulated in the gutters and pipes of the St. Nicholas Church roof hindered the orderly flow of rainwater from the roofs, causing water to leak onto the facades.
Following consultation with the monument’s owner and recognizing the importance of the memorial, the National Agency for the Protection of Cultural Heritage took responsibility for the necessary works. These works were carried out by the dedicated group led by mountaineer Giorgi Gujabidze.
The agency extends its heartfelt gratitude for their exceptional cooperation and hard work, which has contributed significantly to preserving our cultural heritage.
Kintsvisi Monastery Complex was founded by the order of the throne in the XII-XIII centuries. Ensemble’s main monument, St. Nicholas Church, is a central dome dump. The temple is a typical example of domed churches of Georgia’s developed feudal era.
The South and North gates were built in the XIV and XIII centuries. The church painting done in the beginning is one of the best and most important examples of Georgian monumental painting of the Middle Ages.

Kintsvisi Monastery is a Georgian Orthodox monastery in the Shida Kartli region, eastern Georgia. It is 10 kilometers from the town of Kareli, on a forested slope of a high mountain in the Dzama valley. Its main church is an exceptional example of a brick church from the Georgian Golden Age period.
