These representatives also learned about the main links in the agricultural value chain, food safety issues, and the importance of professional education in increasing productivity in the agricultural sector.

The key speakers of the event also said that as technology has occupied a major space in almost every aspect of life, vocational and professional training for people associated with the agriculture sector is very important. They also highlighted the immediate need for providing training regarding the latest technology that can be implemented in the field of agriculture.

The production was largely hit by adverse climatic conditions in the previous year, which forced the food scientists to explore new methods to address the challenges. Similarly, the event’s participants learned about the main challenges of atmospheric air pollution and the main polluters.

The Environmental Information and Education Center organized the meeting within the framework of the project “Modernization of the Vocational Education System in Georgian Agriculture VET (Phase 3).” Project VET phase three is being implemented with the support of the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) and the United Nations Development Program (UNDP).

The Georgian Ministry of Agriculture and Environment Protection has taken many initiatives in the last few years to make the Georgian agriculture sector more resilient to adverse climate conditions.
