Georgia: Nika Tkemaladze, the head of the Department of Relations with the Regional Government of Georgia, and local government representatives learned about the disaster’s results in the regions. He met with the local people and heard from them about the damage.

Nika Tkemaladze, the head of the Department of Relations with the Regions, conducted a thorough inspection of the infrastructure damage in the municipalities.

The central government, in close coordination with the local government, has been actively involved in the relief efforts. Regular meetings with citizens are being held, and special equipment has been deployed on-site for the ongoing works.

Several consecutive days of heavy rainfall have wreaked havoc on the villages of nine administrative units in the Tianeti municipality. The road infrastructure has been severely damaged, leading to the unfortunate loss of about 100 lives.

The residents’ homes and agricultural properties have been submerged, and the disruption of electric transmission lines has left 642 subscribers without power.

As a result of the work carried out, the electricity problem remains in only three villages, for 40 subscribers. The company continues to take appropriate measures within the scope of opportunity.

Four of the five villages in the Artni administrative unit that were cut off from the environment have already had road use restored.

Due to damaged road infrastructure, commuting issues persist in several locations, totaling 33 families.

Natural processes also significantly damaged the refugee settlement of Tserovani, flooding internal roads, residential houses, and agricultural lands.

At this stage, with the involvement of Mtskheti Municipality Hall and Akhalgori Municipality Board, cleaning and cleaning works are underway at the site.

At the same time, the preliminary calculation of damage caused by the elements has already begun. Affected families will be provided with temporary housing and food if needed.

To address severe weather issues promptly, appropriate measures, including storm damage assessment, will be continued intensively at all locations where needed.
