Culture Minister honors Ketevan Kiknadze’s memory

The Minister of Culture, Sports and Youth of Georgia Thea Tsulukiani honored the memory of Ketevan Kiknadze together with Prime Minister of Georgia Irakli Kobakhidze, Speaker of the Parliament of Georgia Shalva Papuashvili, Parliamentary Majority Leader Mamuka Mdinaradze at the professional state dramatic theater named after Kote Marjanishvili at the Georgian State Dramatic Theater.

Georgia: The Minister of Culture, Sports and Youth of Georgia Thea Tsulukiani honored the memory of Ketevan Kiknadze together with Prime Minister of Georgia Irakli Kobakhidze, Speaker of the Parliament of Georgia Shalva Papuashvili, Parliamentary Majority Leader Mamuka Mdinaradze at the professional state dramatic theater named after Kote Marjanishvili at the Georgian State Dramatic Theater.

The Culture minister expressed condolences to the deceased’s family, friends, and colleagues.

Dimitri Khvatisiashvili, Nana Pachuashvili, Ketevan Dumbadze, Nikoloz Tsulukidze, Soso Nemsadze, and Asmat Tkabladze recalled interesting episodes from Ketevan Kiknadze’s life and Work while speaking at the civil funeral.

Georgian People’s Artist Ketevan Kiknadze, one of the prominent actors of theater and cinema, was buried in the Pantheon of Tbilisi Didub Writers and Social Activists.

Ketevan Kiknadze portrayed several memorable and exciting characters. As soon as he graduated from the Tbilisi State Theater Institute (1959), Work started at Marjanishvili Theater. In 1967-70 years, he was an actor at Rustavi Theater. He played at different times in Rustaveli Theater, and in 1977, he returned to Marjanishvili Theater.

The actress has participated in more than 100 plays and created several attractive faces, namely Khatia (“I See the Sun”), Maka (“The Nest on the Ninth Floor”), Augustina (“Eight Loving Women”), Betty (“Charlie’s Aunt”) and others.

Ketevan Kiknadze acted in more than 16 TV films and series: “Meeting with the Past” (Mariam, 1966), “Tariel Golua” (Tina, 1968), “Data Tutashkhia” (Bechuni Pertia, 1978), “White flags” (Zaza’s mother, 1990), “Premiere” (Margo, 1991), “Book of Oath” (Queen Ketevan, 1983), “Coffee and Beer” (Gulchina) and others.

Ketevan Kiknadze was awarded the Shota Rustaveli State Prize in 1987 and was named the Honored Artist of Georgia. In 1990, he became the People’s Artist of Georgia. The actor was also the laureate of the Kote Marjanishvili Award and the Cavalier of the Order of Honor (1999 year).
