Kakheti, Georgia: On Monday, July 15, 2024, the specialists could see the dome of Alaverdi Cathedral in the Kakheti region, Georgia, for the first time.
Alaverdi Cathedral is the tallest church in Georgia and a cultural heritage monument, so it took several days to set up a Carrasco on the neck of the cathedral’s dome.
The process, which started on July 6, was completed on July 15, after which a group of architects-restorationists and constructors were allowed to assess the condition of the dome’s love garden, orphans, and roof.
The old brick cladding, brick lanes, and finisher orphans were fully revealed during the initial inspection. Unfortunately, some of these elements are damaged and chipped, necessitating repair, while others must be replaced entirely.
The Research and finalization work started, allowing specialists to work on the necessary methodology for restoration.

As the public knows, on June 26, Georgian Minister of Culture and Sports Thea Tsulukiani visited Alaverdi with Nikoloz Aznaurashvili, the General Director of the National Agency for Protection of Cultural Heritage of Georgia. They acquainted themselves with the situation in the monastery complex.
