The administration has decided to renovate the areas around Borjomi’s Central Park. The renovation projects will also include rehabilitation work at Central Historical Park.
According to the latest information available so far, the works scheduled under this new project are actively being carried out on full swing.
The works under this project include rehabilitating bridges and roads. They further include installing protective dams to stop the unnecessary flow of water from high areas.
At the same time under the project, the footpaths will be renewed and damaged entertainment sections will be replaced with new modern equipment.
This will further include the new projects related to irrigation and other engineering-related work as well.
Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure Irakli Karseladze, visited the site to inspect the progress of ongoing work. He was accompanied by many other officials and representatives of the city hall administration.
After inspecting the project site he added, “The rehabilitation-restoration project of the historical area of the city of Borjomi includes both the restoration of bridges and the implementation of relevant engineering-related networks and other technical works. In addition the renovation-modernization of Borjomi’s central park is already underway.”
The Minister further emphasized “As a result of the rehabilitation work, the park will become even more attractive for city residents and guests. The renewed historical park will significantly enhance the tourism potential of Borjomi by bringing more visitors and economic opportunities to the city.”
The park will be fully adapted to the needs of people with disabilities and parents using baby walkers. The project will be implemented within the framework of the state program for the development of cities and resorts across the country to enhance the beauty of public recreational places.
The total cost of the project will be 35 million GEL. The Ministry of Rural Development and Infrastructure took to its social media handles and shared information.
