Baku: The capital of Azerbaijan is hosting the Baku Cinema Breeze festival. The Georgian delegation has been provided with space to provide public information about Georgian filmography.
The city of Baku will host the event from October 2 to 8. The Baku Cinema Breeze international film festival will also be held for the first time in the capital of Azerbaijan.
This new international film “Baku Cinema Breeze” combines the 15th Baku International Film Festival, the 8th Baku Documentary International Film Festival, the 7th Baku Animation Film Festival, the Turkish Animation Festival (ATA) and the Eastern and Orient and Middle Asia Countries Cinema Market festival.
Georgia is also participating in this festival to educate attendees on the rich history and culture of Georgian cinema. It should be added that representatives of the National Film Center of Georgia visited the festival’s film market at the official invitation of the Ministry of Culture and Sports of Azerbaijan.
They also received an invitation from the Cinema Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan (ARCA). The representatives of the Georgian Film Center met with representatives of the film industry of Finland, Canada, Azerbaijan, India, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Turkey and Belgium. During the meetings the parties discussed the prospects of future cooperation between Georgia and other countries around the world.
At the same time a panel discussion was held within the framework of the film festival in Baku. Giorgi Tshvediani from Georgia along with many other representative of the International Department of the Film Centre participated in this festival.
At these meetings they discussed topics such as co-production as a common interest of the countries, different ways of distributing copyrighted films and the importance of the film market for the film industry.
This year at Baku Cinema Breeze festival works created by the production company Mifasi and films created by Zurab Diasamidze, the head of the Animation Development Fund and the director of the Tofuzi Animation Film Festival will be presented.
Moreover ilms like Tomato, The Wall in My House, Freedom, Tskheli, Tea in Rainy Weather, Director, and Goderdzi will be screened under the category of modern Georgian animation.
