Tbilisi: The Georgian Prosecutor’s office summoned My Vote’s (a local observer )representative, Londa Toloraia. She shared information on this important development with media houses.
It is worth noting that since the end of the election process in Georgia many opposition parties, non-governmental organizations and civil society organizations have been demanding an independent probe of election-related complaints.
It is to be noted that even the President herself refused to recognize the result and blamed the ruling regime, Georgian Dream for election fraud. The president also demanded an impartial investigation of the entire election process to extract the absolute truth behind the allegation.
According to Tolorais’s version the Prosecutor’s office summoned her on November 4 to record her statements. However she refused to appear before the Office of Prosecution and made it clear that she would appear only before the court of law.
Speaking further about the development she added that she has no objection to the investigation into election fraud. However will not appear before the Prosecutor’s office as it has already failed to deliver on various fronts with regard to its constitutional duties.
Instead of the office of the prosecutor, I would like to visit a court of law where other people will come to know reality in an open courtroom. In the court proceeding, people will also come to know how ineffective the office of the prosecutor was when it was expected to act to ensure a transparent election.
Toloraia also revealed that since the beginning of the election campaign they have been demanding fairness to restore the credibility of the election process among voters from all over the country.
My Vote also blamed the Central Election Commission for bias against opposition parties. According to the observer My Votr, the central election commission negatively favoured the Georgian Dream.
She said the poor work of these agencies is very sad. Moreover, this is dangerous for the whole country, where people also have huge faith in election machinery. The Central Election Commission’s prosecutor’s office opened the investigation after the president requested it. The office also summoned the President to record her statement, but she also refused to appear.
