Information and Education Centre of MEPA signs MoU with Bernie University

The Information and Education Centre of the Georgian Ministry of Environment Protection and agriculture have signed memorandum of Cooperation with Bern University of Applied Sciences.

Tbilisi: The Information and Education Centre of the Georgian Ministry of Environment Protection and agriculture have signed memorandum of Cooperation with Bern University of Applied Sciences. This will promote the exchange program among both sides in future.

It is worth to note that, the provisions of memorandum will be implemented with the support of the Swiss Development and Cooperation Agency. The Bern University of Applied Sciences (School of Agriculture, Forestry and Food Sciences), the Centre for Environmental Information and Education and the Professional Skills Agency which signed a MOU will work to promote exchange programs on environmental sustainability, forest management, Agri-agricultural practices and food sciences.

This important memorandum was signed by Bernie University of Applied Sciences (BFH) (School of Agriculture, Forestry and Food Sciences) Hugo P. Zanebe Uraguchi, the head of the Institute of International Cooperation and Development named after the Czechin, Deputy Director of the Environmental Information and Education Center Ekaterine Bendeliani and Director of the Professional Skills Agency, Irine Margishvili.

During the visit the members of the delegation also learned about the effective functioning of the agricultural extension system, agricultural best practices, educational material sharing opportunities and bee training experiences .  Meetings were held at Bernie University of Applied Sciences ,School of Agriculture, Forestry and Food Sciences.

Ekaterine Bendeliani while speaking on this occasion also said that “It was interesting for the delegation to share the experience of Switzerland. It is important to take the first and concrete step to cooperate with the Bern University of Applied Sciences to promote the professions in the environmental and agrarian fields, approved by the signing of the Memorandum of Cooperation.”

Using Bern, within the framework of our mandate with the university, we will cooperate with both vocational and higher level programs and promote coordination with educational institutions (professional, higher) in Georgia.You will find particularly interesting for the centre the master’s Program of Circular Economy of the Bernie Applied Institute, which has found the way to transfer to Georgian universities, said Ekaterine Bendeliani.
