Tbilisi, Georgia: Alexander Tsuladze, Georgia’s Minister of Education, Science, and Youth, paid a visit at Tbilisi’s 55th Public School on Friday, January 10, 2025. He also got acquainted with the National Education Olympiad’s second-round procedure.
On its official Facebook page, Georgia’s Ministry of Education, Science, and Youth posted glimpses of Tsuladze’s visit. The Minister can be seen cheerfully welcoming everyone in the pictures.
The Minister wished the pupils of the Olympiad-participating schools success. As Alexander Tsuladze noted, holding the National Educational Olympiad promotes motivation among students and identifies candidates for teams that will participate in the International Olympiads on behalf of Georgia.
The director of the National Assessment and Examinations Center, Nino Tsereteli provided detailed information to the Minister about the second round of the National Educational Olympiad.
The second round of the National Educational Olympiad of the 2024-2025 academic year is held in 64 cities throughout Georgia. More than 6880 pupils participated in the second round.
National Educational Olympiad is held centrally in the following subjects:
- Georgian language and literature
- Georgian language for non-Georgian speaking school pupils
- mathematics
- history
- geography
- physics
- chemistry
- biology
- foreign language
The National Educational Olympiad is based on the National Curriculum and it is held by the National Assessment and Examinations Center in three rounds each year.
National Educational Olympiad
The second round of the National Educational Olympiad in Georgia is held at examination centers across the country. The second round for the 2023–2024 academic year took place from January 8–12.
- The National Educational Olympiad is a yearly competition for students in grades 10–12.
- The competition is organized by the National Assessment and Examinations Center (NAEC).
- The competition is based on the National Curriculum.
