MIA hosts an award ceremony for graduates of police training groups

The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia hosted an award ceremony for graduates of police, investigators, and border basic training groups on Sunday, April 27, 2025. The ceremony was held in the Academy of Internal Affairs Ministry and the participants were awarded certificates.

Georgia: The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia hosted an award ceremony for graduates of police, investigators, and border basic training groups on Sunday, April 27, 2025. The ceremony was held in the Academy of Internal Affairs Ministry and the participants were awarded certificates.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia shared glimpses of the event on its official Facebook page on the same day along with some details related to the event.

According to the details provided by the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA), it should be noted that the event was officially opened by the rector of the Academy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Lela Chikovani. He addressed the participants with a welcome speech and also congratulated the graduates on starting their professional activities.

Significantly, the minister stressed the value of police officers’ careers and their contributions to law enforcement throughout his address. Lela Chikovani further emphasized the unique obligations related to safeguarding the nation’s state border and internal security. He ended his remarks by wishing the graduates a prosperous career.

The ceremony of handing out certificates to 45 graduates was attended by

  • Nikoloz Sharadze, the head of MIA Border Police of Georgia,
  • Director of Human Resources Management Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Londa Toloraia,
  • Eka Zaalishvili,
  • Director of the Tbilisi Police Department, Lasha Gogniashvili,
  • Deputy Director of the Patrol Police Department Ushangi Lomidze,
  • Instructors of the Academy,
  • Alumni group Members of the tree,
  • Loved ones.

It should also be noted that during the event, the graduates paid a minute’s silence to honor the policemen who died for the territorial integrity of Georgia and decorated the memorial with a garland.

Police, Investigators, and Border Patrol’s basic training program aims to turn theoretical knowledge into practical skills. Its primary mission is to provide training offorersonnel in law enforcement structures to perform their professional activities effectively.
