A Forum “Diaspora for Motherland – Tradition, Unity, Development” was held on the occasion of the Georgian Diaspora Day on May 27, 2025, Tuesday. The main aim of the forum was to strengthen ties between the Georgian diaspora and their homeland.
The Ministry of Education, Science, and Youth of Georgia shared glimpses of the event on its Official Facebook page. The Ministry also shared a small note along with the photographs.
According to the note shared by the Ministry, it was noted that the event was organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia along with the International Organization for Migration (IOM) and the International Centre for Migration Policy Development (ICMPD).
The forum dedicated to Diaspora Day was opened by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia Maka Botchorishvili. She addressed the present community with a welcome speech.
Within the framework of the forum, the teachers of Sunday schools were awarded, who completed a professional development course. Additionally, the winners of the competition “Georgian Calligraphy” were announced. The certificates of appreciation were also given to all the other participants along with the winners.
The Georgian Minister of Education, Science, and Youth Aleksandre Tsuladze, together with the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Maka Bochorishvili, and Minister of Culture, Tinatin Rukhadze, awarded the respective prizes to the winners.

The forum dedicated to the Day of Georgian Diaspora is held annually and aims to deepen connections and cooperation between the state and the diaspora, discuss existing challenges and opportunities, and increase the role of diaspora representatives in the development of the country.
