Georgia: In Tsnori, a dialysis service has been launched, which will serve local beneficiaries. Until now, hemodialysis patients have had to relocate remotely from their homes to receive essential life care, resulting in additional physical strain, time, and expense. Starting today, the service will be available close to home.
The Minister of Health Mikheil Sarjveladze inspected the newly opened center. He got to know the infrastructure and service delivery process of institutions on the spot.
The Ministry of Internally Displaced Persons, Labor, Health and Social Welfare shared glimpses of the Minister’s visit on its official Facebook page on June 18, 2025, Wednesday. The Ministry also shared a small note along with its photographs.
According to the Minister, it is especially important to have geographical access to medical services for patients. To this end, the Ministry will continue to cooperate actively with the private sector in the future to further increase the geographical coverage of dialysis services. He said, that this year, the government increased the funding tariffs for hemodialysis services for clinics, helping to provide patients with higher quality and modern services.
The Dialysis Center in Tsnori will serve 16 patients daily. 32 beneficiaries will benefit from the service in the municipality. The center is fully equipped with modern equipment for hemodialysis. Patients are served daily by well-trained medical staff.
In Tsnori, together with the Minister of Health, Minister of Environment and Agriculture David Songulashvili, Minister of Regional Development Kakha Guledani, State Commissioner in Kakheti Giorgi Aladashvili, Delegate of Gurjaani, Sagarejo, Dedoplistskaro and Signaghi Municipalities Gia Benashvili, First Deputy Minister of Infrastructure Ilia Begiashvili and Director of Medical Holding of Georgia Ri Malkhaz Zhorzhikashvili was present.
According to today’s data, in Georgia, dialysis service is provided by 50 medical institutions and more than 3000 beneficiaries use hemodialysis service.
