Georgia: The Chairman of the Government, Sulkhan Tamazashvili, congratulated the first-year students on becoming students at the meeting of the Adjara Government. He also noted that taking care of the next generation is one of the main priorities of the Adjarian Government.
The Government of Adjara shared the glimpses of the event on its official Facebook page on August 27, 2025, Wednesday. The Adjara Government also shared a small note along with its photographs.
According to the note shared by the Government of Adjara, Sulkhan Tamazashvili said that the students holding a state education grant will be given a cash award from the government of Adjara.
“Promoting the next generation is our priority. It is noteworthy that Adjara meets the new academic year with renewed infrastructure. It is very important for us to create educational infrastructure with modern standards in the region, so that students can get education in the right environment,“ said Sulkhan Tamazashvili.
In 2025, 27 public schools will be rehabilitated in all six municipalities. Construction of four schools and two gyms will be completed by the end of the year. Also, rehabilitation works of 7 public schools. At this stage, the tender for full and partial rehabilitation of 14 schools has been announced.
The Chairman of the Adjara Government noted the importance of continuous improvement of the socio-economic situation in the region and talked about the news in this direction: “We are pursuing our main goal, which means to further improve the socio-economic situation in the region, and to provide maximum attention to the needs of the population.” We have good news in this direction as well, in one month, the construction of multi-storey residential houses in Khelvachauri municipality will be completed, and we will give furnished apartments to 90 eco-migrant families”.
At the meeting, Sulkhan Tamazashvili spoke about the preparations for the self-government elections and noted that worthy candidates for mayor and city council membership are presented in all municipalities.
