Georgia: The Georgian Minister of Education, Science and Youth, Givi Mikanadze, visited public schools in the Imereti region, Kutaisi 7, village Gurna of Tkibuli municipality, and village Ghvankiti of Terjoli municipality, where rehabilitation works are being carried out in active mode.
The Ministry of Education, Science, and Youth of Georgia shared this information through its official Facebook page on Tuesday, September 2, 2025. The Georgian Ministry also posted glimpses of the Minister’s working visit along with the details.
According to the details shared by the Georgian Ministry, it should be noted that the minister got acquainted with the current situation in schools and met with representatives of the administration, teachers, and employees.
The Education Minister of Georgia, Givi Mikanadze, noted that in the Imereti region, rehabilitation works in schools are carried out according to the schedule and in compliance with appropriate standards.
According to him, the works will be completed in the near future, and the schools will be ready to welcome students in renovated spaces. This is the fulfillment of Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze’s promise, which means to improve the infrastructure of schools throughout the country.
“It’s important for us that the next generation, our children, are given knowledge in a healthy and international standard environment. This is extremely important for the well-being of our country,” mentioned Givi Mikanadze.
As a result of the infrastructural works carried out in the public schools of Gurna village of Kutaisi 7, Tkibuli municipality, and Ghvankiti village of Terjoli municipality, the buildings will be fully renovated and adapted for students with special educational needs. Elevators, adapted sanitary nodes, and pandus will be set up. Also, science and computer labs, gyms, library, cafeteria, resource rooms, and doctors’ offices.
In addition, schools will be fully equipped with all the relevant educational resources. The contract value of the 7th public school project of Kutaisi is 5,667,779 GEL, the public school of village Gurna is 6,252,344 GEL, and the public school of village Ghvankita is 5,653,544 GEL.
