Georgia: According to one-year results of the new micro entrepreneurship support program of the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development agency “Produce in Georgia”, more than 1200 loans were approved, the total volume of which is up to 60 million GEL. An additional 2,643 jobs have been created with the investment.

Entrepreneurs, women entrepreneurs, and start-up entrepreneurs living in the highland regions benefit from special discounts.
Within the framework of the new program, beneficiaries have the opportunity to receive full or partial financing of the loan interest from agency partner financial institutions, an 80% guarantee during the borrowing process, and access to consulting services with co-financing of up to 25,000 GEL.
After meeting the existing criteria, anyone whose income does not exceed 500,000 GEL is eligible to participate in the program. The maximum period of support is 5 years, and the amount of the loan is from 20,000 to 50,000 GEL.
The Micro and Small Entrepreneurship Support Program is a new financial mechanism of the agency’s consulting centers’ service package. It helps anyone looking to grow their existing business or start a new one.
The success of the program is significantly determined by another news of the agency – the regional consulting centers. Since the majority of the beneficiaries of the program are residents of the region, it is important that they get all the necessary services at their nearest counseling centre. Regional consultation centers of the agency are already functioning in 6 cities of Georgia – Zugdidi, Telavi, Kutaisi, Akhaltsikhe, Batumi, and Tbilisi.
